Senator Sam McCann and Representative Jim Watson of Jacksonville (at right) attended the February 7 meeting of the Commission on Government Forecasting and Accountability (COGFA), which heard testimony about Governor Pat Quinn’s plan to close the Jacksonville Developmental Center and the Tinley Park Mental Health Center.

COGFA officials initially said they did not need further testimony from JDC or Tinley Park, but Senator McCann asked that representatives of both facilities be allowed to make a statement because so many people had driven to Springfield to attend the meeting.
