Area fire chiefs and members of the statewide Mutual Aid Box Alarm System (MABAS) Division 56 presented Senator Sam McCann with a plaque January 24 to thank him for supporting disaster preparedness through mutual aid.

MABAS is an intergovernmental cooperative that includes 68 divisions, nearly 1,100 fire agencies and 38,000 firefighters/EMTS whose mission is to share resources through a coordinated statewide plan.
